LIGHTSTAR®

LIGHTSTAR®

We provide nano-sized functional space!
Porous spherical silica particle sol with mesopores

LIGHTSTAR® is a sol manufactured using a proprietary manufacturing method (*) in which porous spherical silica particles are dispersed in each type of solvent.

(*)A manufacturing method that does not use organic substances, and therefore places little burden on the environment.

The fine pores are mesopores measuring 2 nm to 50 nm in diameter, allowing the material to have an extremely high pore volume.

Main Characteristics

  • The particle size is submicron, and is available in 2 types: normal particles and small particles.
  • The particles are spherical.
  • The fine pores are connected three-dimensionally, providing a high pore volume.
  • Good heat resistance. Even near 900ºC, there is little breakdown of fine pores or reduction of the specific surface area.
  • Because the sol is dispersed in a solvent, it is easy to use, allowing selection of the dispersion solvent that is most suited to the use.

  • (Note 1)"C type" is the grade with which pH is the most stable in the neutral range.
  • (Note 2)Other grades are available. Please contact us for details.
Notes:
  • Please be aware that properties may be changed without prior notification in order to improve the product.
  • Particles will sink to the bottom of the container if they are stationary.
Be sure to shake the container before use to disperse the particles again.
