The foundation of Nissan Chemical Industries inorganic materials operations is our nanoparticle control technology. As one of our core technologies we have for a long period of time continued to develop its applications for a variety of fields in our endeavors to supply a unique product.
In 1951, Nissan Chemical Industries took
the opportunity afforded by the start of
production of our major brand SNOWTEX®
to expand its application beyond fiber treatment
into areas such as paper, steel, molds and
refractory products. More recently,
the use of SNOWTEX® has expanded into
cutting edge fields, with battery and inkjet
printer paper coating agent and silicon wafer
polishing agent applications. SNOWTEX®
has gained a reputation as an indispensable
product in a wide variety of fields.
In 1996, the Nissan Chemical Houston Corporation
was established as a production base in Houston,
USA, to expand into the European and United
States markets, while also enabling the continual
introduction of a range of products other
than SNOWTEX®, such as ORGANOSILICASOL,
a high-refractive index sol, and CELNAX®
into the market, reinforcing our position
as a comprehensive supplier of inorganic
materials. |

| [ SNOWTEX® ] |
 |
| SNOWTEX® is a colloidal sillca for use
in a wide range of applications such as paper,
fabric, iron and steel, metal casting and
regractory products. Recently, this product
has been undergoing development for use in
batteries, coatings for inkjet printer paper
and polishing silicon wafers. |

| [ ORGANOSILICASOL ] |
 |
| ORGANOSILICASOL is a colloid that is stable
in various organic solvents. It can be mixed
into organic resins and it provides effective
functionality for many applications such
as nano composites and hard coatings. |

| [ HIGH REFRACTIVE INDEX SOL ] |
 |
| HIGH REFRACTIVE INDEX SOL is a spherical
core-shell sol. It has a core of zirconium
oxide and tin oxide covered by a shell of
silica and other metal oxides. The refractive
index is 1.8 to 1.9. It can be used to increase
the refractive index of hard coatings for
optical films. There are also specialized
grades available for ophthalmic lens coatings. |

| [ CELNAX® ] |
 |
CELNAX®-Z series are colloidal dispersions
of zinc antimonate ultra-fine particles that
provide excellent electro conductivity, good
dispersibility and high transparency. It
is applied to antistatic coatings for films,
fibers, paints, and inks. It is also used
for heat absorption in films for both automotive
and architectural glass.
Phosphorous doped tin oxide sol; CX-S is
also available. It is an antimony-free, transparent
and colorless material which yields highly
transparent and antistatic coatings. |

| [ NanoUse® ] |
 |
| NanoUse® is a high purity metal oxide
sol using our unique innovative manufacturing
technology. Colloidal zirconia and ceria
are dispersed in water and organic solvents.
Zirconia sol is commonly applied to high
refractive index coatings and sintering binders.
Ceria sol can be used for UV absorption and
catalyst applications. A zirconia/ceria sol
is also available for catalyst. |
